【摘要】:ThistestmethodisusedtoprepareandtestcylindricalspecimensofCLSMtodeterminethecompressivestrengthofthehardenedmaterial.CLSMistypicallyusedasabackfillmaterialaroundstructures,particularlyinconfinedorlimitedspaces.Compressivestrengthtestingisperformedtoassistinthedesignofthemixandtoserveasacontroltechniqueduringconstruction.Mixdesignistypicallybasedon28-daystrengthsandconstructioncontroltestsperformed7daysafterplacement.Thecompressivestrength(s)andothertestage(s)willvaryaccordingtotherequirementsfortheendproduct.AdditionalinformationontheuseandhistoryofCLSMiscontainedinAppendixX1.ThistestisoneofaseriesofqualitycontrolteststhatcanbeperformedonCLSMduringconstructiontomonitorcompliancewithspecificationrequirements.TheotherteststhatcanbeusedduringconstructioncontrolofCLSMareTestMethodsD5971,D6023,D6024,andD6103.Therearemanyothercombinationsofsoil,cement,flyash(cementitiousornot),admixturesorothermaterialsthatcouldbetestedusingthismethod.Themixtureswouldvarydependingontheintendeduse,availabilityofmaterials,andplacementrequirements.Note18212;Thequalityoftheresultproducedbythisstandardisdependentonthecompetenceofthepersonnelperformingit,andthesuitabilityoftheequipmentandfacilitiesused.AgenciesthatmeetthecriteriaofPracticeD3740aregenerallyconsideredcapableofcompetentandobjectivetesting/sampling/inspection/andthelike.UsersofthisstandardarecautionedthatcompliancewithPracticeD3740doesnotinitselfassurereliableresults.Reliableresultsdependonmanyfactors;PracticeD3740providesameansofevaluatingsomeofthosefactors.1.1Thistestmethodcoversproceduresforthepreparation,curing,transportingandtestingofcylindricaltestspecimensofcontrolledlowstrengthmaterial(CLSM)forthedeterminationofcompressivestrength.1.2Thistestmethodalsomaybeusedtoprepareandtestspecimensofothermixturesofsoilandcementitiousmaterials,suchasself-cementingflyashes.1.3CLSMisalsoknownasflowablefill,controlleddensityfill,soil-cementslurry,soil-cementgrout,unshrinkablefill,K-Krete,andothersimilarnames.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Theinch-poundequivalentsareshownforinformationonly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SeeSection7.
